wow. its been a while since my last post. a thousand apologies.
ED REC VOL.3!!!!! , well the tshirts at least. i'm a bit pissed off actually. they make about 20 shirts and they sell out in half an hour - then we are expected to beg like dogs or go on ebay. some people are selling these things for $240! maybe just enjoying the music would suffice, rather than being a fashionista wank-job. i love trends.

ed banger vol.2 is coming out on 16th march 07 (already out on mp3) and it's a bit of alright - much like the delightful uffie (see above)

people seem to be a bit divided on young uff, and i think it helps to have a sense of humour (not to mention irony) when listening to her.

this incendiary little number is supposedly a diss track directed at the hollertronics message board run by diplo, although her anger seems to be towards the people posting rather than the hollertronics crew themselves. usually, the whole concept of diss tracks is a little juvenile, and this is no exception, but the notion of two predominently geek-worshipped musicians having an online tiff is pretty funny - and a million miles away from the usual gangsta-rap moronics.

the track itself sounds like stuttered 80s breaker electro with a white chick rapping fairly loosely over the top. uffie may not be the greatest rapper but she has loads of attitude and hell-funny delivery.

a demo of the new justice song has been leaked, and like they said in their recent interviews, it's very disco. sonically more like the simian remix than, say the daft punk one. dope like whitney houston.

ok i'm back, jogged into action by a certain nagging friend (you know who you are). been very distracted by my own musical ventures of late and i'm sure i'll assault you all with them soon. it's like distorted robot sex. or the nearest equivalent.

just found out that kavinsky & sebastiAn are playing in sydney at the end of the month! this makes me a very happy camper (especially after missing out on justice). live in sydney, miss this and you're surely a peasant.

mashing digitalism's zdarlight with a wham's ray of sunshine, the avalanches show us that they havent lost their touch quite yet. beautiful housey goodness. and wham are fucking fantastic (what happened georgie?)

stunning. starts out all glitched up and harsh, but then suddenly becomes blissful, stuttered french house. cannot wait to see him live.

phil collins - easy lover
not long ago i embarked on a month-long phil collins kick. i'm not sure of the motivation behind this but it doesn't really matter because the eighties didn't get much better than phil. over-blown production, and more hooks than a hellraiser film.

krazy baldhead - bill's break
another tune from the ed banger crew who i'm fast becoming some kind groupie for (me and the rest of the planet). imagine jazz mixed with stuttery gallic funk and you're on the right track :)
